Friday night featured a marquee matchup between two of the hottest teams in the NBA today in the New York Knicks and the Phoenix Suns. Knicks rookie Obi Toppin wanted to make sure that he was able to make an impact on the game, and he did just that with an impressive defensive and offensive display.

Toppin read Chris Paul's step-back jumper to perfection, and the Knicks stud showcased his elite length as he reached out to block CP3's jump shot. After which, he ran on the other end for a flush finish.

Here's another angle of Toppin's two-way hustle:

Obi Toppin hasn't exactly been tremendous in his rookie year for the Knicks. As a matter of fact, there might be some who would be willing to argue that Toppin hasn't lived up to the lofty expectation New York had on him when they selected him eighth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Nevertheless, plays like these serve as a reminder of Toppin's untapped talent on both ends of the floor. He is undeniably still a work-in-progress and it could be said that he is still raw at this early point of his career, but it's also hard to deny that he holds a ton of potential. It's too early to bring out the pitchforks against the Knicks youngster.
