With Joakim Noah nearing his return from suspension, the New York Knicks need to decide who to take off the roster to make way for the veteran big man. Mindaugas Kuzminskas, who has seen very little playing time this season, has been a popular choice to be dealt away.

However, veteran forward Michael Beasley could also be a dark-horse candidate get moved, according to the New York Post’s Marc Berman.

An outside candidate to be removed is Michael Beasley, who has yet to shine, outplayed by Doug McDermott. He’s also on a one-year veteran’s minimum deal.

Beasley has had an underwhelming start to his Knicks career. The 28-year-old is averaging a mere 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game. McDermott has been a much more productive player thus far, which is why he’s been getting more minutes off the bench.

The Knicks likely won’t miss Beasley that much if he is either traded or outright waived, especially since they still have a versatile forward in Lance Thomas to take up those minutes.

However, the Knicks could still opt to retain more depth at that wing position and instead choose to relieve their logjams at point guard or center if possible.
