The New York Knicks are interested in buying another second-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

The Athletic NBA staff writer Michael Scotto tweeted the development on June 20.

As of now, we don't know how high the Knicks will draft in the second round with this newest pick. Possibly, it'll be high enough for them to draft Admiral Schofield, Daniel Gafford, Ty Jerome, Dylan Windler, or Naz Reid.

The Knicks will select third overall in the draft. Many experts believe they will select Duke Blue Devils swingman R.J. Barrett. He previously met with the Knicks at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.

Barrett told SNY's Ian Begley (via Yahoo Sports) on May 29 he's looking forward to playing in New York. His mother, Kesha Duhaney, is from Brooklyn. His father, Rowan Barrett, played for the St. John's Red Storm during his college days. Clearly, Canadian-born R.J. Barrett has New York roots.

It would be a lot of fun, playing in the Garden, the bright lights. They have so much history down there. It would be amazing.

[Meeting with the Knicks] was great….We had a great and honest conversation so it was good.

With the latest turn of events, the Knicks could wind up with three picks in the 2019 NBA Draft. If the Memphis Grizzlies (who own the second overall pick) draft Barrett, New York will presumably select Ja Morant.

Regardless of the Knicks' first-round draft choice, look for general manager Scott Perry to complement that player with his two second-rounders.
