The New York Knicks were unable to win the first overall pick at Tuesday night's lottery after finishing with the league's worst record. Instead, they will be selecting third overall in this year's draft.

That's truly not that bad, disappointment over Zion Williamson aside, but NBA analyst and longtime Knicks fan Stephen A. Smith is not happy his team didn't get the coveted top pick:

Stephen A. Smith was obviously expecting the Knicks to get collegiate star Zion Williamson from Duke or even Murray State's Ja Morant, but his team likely won't have a chance at either, as the New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies will almost certainly gobble them up with their respective picks.

Still, the Knicks are in a good position to select Zion's teammate at Duke, RJ Barrett. A lot of people believe he will be a star in the league, so while not getting the opportunity to land Zion is unfortunate, giving up on a player like Barrett would be a mistake.

Remember, Smith was one of the loudest critics of the Knicks when they drafted Kristaps Porzingis back in 2015, but in the end, he definitely ate his words as the Latvian forward showed flashes of being one of the best players in the league before getting hurt and getting traded.

Barrett just needs a chance if he's drafted, or perhaps that No. 3 pick winds up going to the New Orleans Pelicans in a trade for Anthony Davis.
