Anthony Davis claimed his body was running mostly on adrenaline against the Atlanta Hawks after suffering a sprained right ankle. The Los Angeles Lakers forward rolled his ankle with 4:14 left in regulation after landing from a layup, with his team leading by seven points, putting their win streak on the line.

“I just wanted to finish the game,” said Davis after the Lakers grabbed their seventh consecutive win in a 101-96 win over the Hawks on Sunday, according to Kyle Goon of The Orange County Register. “Tweaked it a little bit, but just tried to play the rest of the game off adrenaline and then attend to it after the game.”

Davis said he was “a little sore” after the game but quickly got to an ice bath after the game to soothe the swelling.

The Brow was once again an all-around contributor, pouring in 27 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, a steal, and two blocks in 35 minutes of playing time. The Lakers needed every minute from Davis to put away a pesky Hawks team that stayed in it, as Los Angeles struggled to shoot a feeble 5-of-31 from long range.

The Lakers are hoping to rack up every win possible through this early stretch, as they plan to ease their way into the playoffs by playing their starters fewer minutes and allowing the bench to get some more run before a grueling end-of-season stretch.

Davis finished the game mostly on adrenaline, but don't be surprised if he's held out of Tuesday's game against the Indiana Pacers if swelling persists.
