Los Angeles Lakers star forward Anthony Davis has always been a fanatic of the Green Bay Packers, so it was no surprise on Wednesday when Davis posted an Instagram story sharing how excited he is for WR Randall Cobb's return to play with Aaron Rodgers and the Pack.

Even through backlash for being a Packers fan as a native of Chicago (home to the Chicago Bears, the Packers' fiercest rival), Anthony Davis wears his love for Green Bay on his sleeve, as Randall Cobb was always a fan-favorite during his time in Titletown.

During Cobb's first stint with the Packers, he amassed over 5,000 receiving yards (including a 1200-plus yard season) and was a Pro Bowler. He even occasionally handled punt return and running back duties. However, he was never a superstar, which goes to show just how big of a fan the Lakers star has always been of the Green and Gold.

Randall Cobb's tenure in Green Bay perfectly marks an era for the Packers–an era belonging to home-grown talents like Jordy Nelson, Clay Matthews, Sam Shields, and, of course, Cobb.

Cobb joined the Packers the year after they won Super Bowl XLV against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which began a time in which Green Bay's high-powered offense always brought them to the playoffs, but the defense always held them below a Super Bowl-caliber level.

With that in mind, it's no wonder that Davis is hyped for Cobb's return. In the 2020 NFL season, Green Bay assembled a top-10 ranked defense in the NFL–something that the Packers never achieved while Cobb was there. And, seeing how close they were to defeating the eventual Super Bowl-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game, there's reason to believe that Cobb's addition to the team will be the move that finally gets Green Bay over the hump this year.

And, when all is said and done, Cobb and Davis can hang out and make a toast to each of their championship rings.
