Anthony Davis tried to play through a stomach illness on Saturday against the Portland Trail Blazers, but the Los Angeles Lakers superstar was eventually forced to exit the game after just seven minutes of action. Some fans were quick to judge AD and his injury-prone ways, but as it turns out, Davis was actually in pretty bad shape before the game.

According to Lakers head coach Frank Vogel, AD threw up four times before the game started:

There was actually some doubt as to whether or not Davis was going to be able to take the floor for the Lakers on Saturday, but it was because of a different injury. The All-Star big man had been dealing with a sprained right thumb, which, apparently, was not going to stop AD from suiting up against the Blazers.

Unfortunately for the Lakers star, he contracted some sort of stomach flu, and while he tried his best to play through it, Davis just couldn't muster enough strength to do so. Needless to say, there was going to be no repeat of Michael Jordan's celebrated flu game for AD in this one.

LeBron James was also out of action for the Lakers on Saturday. With Davis exiting early, Damian Lillard and Co. made quick work of a shorthanded LA side. The final score settled at 105-90, but this was actually pretty flattering for the Lakers, who were absolutely blown out of the water by the Blazers from the opening tip.
