During an interview with Rachel Nichols of ESPN after the Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 championship over the Miami Heat, Anthony Davis was asked who the GOAT is between LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

It was a tough question for Davis since he's not only teammates with James, but he also grew up in Chicago and watched Jordan win six titles and six Finals MVPs with the Chicago Bulls during the '90s.

As expected, Davis didn't outright pick Jordan over James or vice versa, but he did say that his Lakers teammate is “different.”

“He different,” Anthony Davis said while smiling and laughing as LeBron James laughed, too.

“I'm from Chicago so I love Michael Jordan. All I can say is that it's a tough-ass debate. Like you really gotta, we gotta speak facts. And he definitely made a case for himself by winning this championship tonight.”

James is the only player in NBA history to rank top-10 all-time in points and assists and win three Finals MVP awards with three different franchises.

LeBron won two Finals MVPs with the Heat in 2012 and 2013, one with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and his fourth on Sunday with the Lakers.

The Jordan-James debate will likely never end. At this point, basketball fans should stop debating and just appreciate how great of a player MJ was with the Bulls and how excellent James has been with the Cavs, Heat and Lakers since entering the NBA straight out of high school in 2003.
