Los Angeles Lakers sharpshooter Danny Green doesn't think the NBA's return is a bad thing amid the current social climate. In fact, he thinks it could be beneficial!

According to recent reports, one of the biggest reasons why a number of players do not want to participate in the league's restart plan is the possibility of it becoming a distraction in the ongoing fight against systemic racism, police brutality and social injustice — something that a fair amount of players have decided to fully involve themselves in.

For Green, however, having sports back doesn't necessarily mean people will forget about the Black Lives Matter movement and what it is fighting for. According to the Lakers veteran, taking part in the Orlando bubble might actually prove to be a good opportunity for players to carry on with their fight, so long as the proper approach is taken for the same.

“The biggest thing is to continue to move forward,” the Lakers swingman said in a recent interview with Mark Medina of USA TODAY. “When we do go to Orlando, the media outlets and playing on that stage, if you use it wisely the right way you can push forward and can continue the movement even in a better forum.”

Danny Green's sentiments is certainly true. The whole world has been patiently waiting for the league to come back for months now, and surely, all eyes will be on Orlando once the season finally resumes. With that said, players could use this exposure as an avenue to voice out their opinions on the social issues that have gripped the nation of late.

It is also worth noting that Green's Lakers teammate, LeBron James, has been one of the most vocal athlete when it comes to the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as the fight against social injustice. True enough, bringing the NBA season back could further highlight the cause and raise more awareness about social causes.
