The rumor mill has been very active of late and one of the biggest talking points has centered around a sensational trade deal between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets involving Russell Westbrook and John Wall. According to reports, the Rockets have shown interest in potentially trading for the embattled Russell Westbrook as the Lakers look to move on from what has turned out to be a botched experiment.

Wall himself has just added more fuel to the fire with his recent social media activity. For some reason, the Rockets guard just liked a tweet wherein renowned NBA insider Skip Bayless talks about the benefits of a Westbrook-for-Wall trade for LA:

Bayless points out that for the Lakers, the primary objective should be to get rid of Russell Westbrook — at all costs. There reportedly has been zero interest in the market for the former MVP with his gargantuan contract being the most significant stumbling block in any potential deal. That is, of course, before Houston came into the picture.

The Rockets have themselves been trying to move on from John Wall, but their efforts have been unsuccessful thus far. He too has a massive deal that has turned off any interest from opposing teams. It's pretty much the same situation the Lakers have with Russ, so I guess it only makes sense that these two teams consider swapping players. To some extent, this would be a win-win deal for both sides as they both get a fresh start in a potential trade.
