Kostas Antetokounmpo was the first Los Angeles Lakers player to receive his ring on opening night. As such, he was the first to get a surprise from his family members, which included his own brother, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Apart from congratulating his little brother, Giannis also encouraged him to “get more rings” (h/t Bleacher Report on Twitter):

Was Giannis really sending out that message to his brother or to himself? After all, the Greek Freak has yet to win a title amid several impressive regular-season campaigns. But for some reason, Giannis and the Bucks fail to put their best foot forward come playoff time.

Last season was particularly bittersweet for the Bucks. They ruled the regular season with 56 wins in the shortened schedule. But they got booted out in just five games by the Miami Heat in the second round of the playoffs. Many thought that this was the impending end of Giannis' tenure with the Bucks. But as we all witnessed in the offseason, Giannis committed to the Bucks with a five-year, $228.2 million deal.

Indeed, 2020 was a mixed bag for the Antetokounmpo family. Giannis definitely got paid, but his mission to finally win that ring continues. But at the same time, he's also proud that Kostas has won his own championship, making him the first in the family to win one.

Kostas has a real chance to win twice in a row given that the Lakers look better than they were last season. Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, too, made some key offseason moves and are hungrier than ever. So the question is, who will be the next Antetokounmpo to win a ring?
