Los Angeles Lakers veteran swingman JR Smith logged another DNP-CD on Monday, as the Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 124-121. Nonetheless, this did not stop him from playing the role of the ultimate hype man following teammate Kyle Kuzma's amazing game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Here is Smith providing Kuzma with the traditional post-game celebratory shower in the Lakers locker room:

Smith has barely figured in for the Lakers since joining the team prior to the restart. In five appearances, the 34-year-old has averaged just 10.8 minutes per contest, scoring just nine total points in those five games. Nevertheless, his veteran presence and championship experience will still play a role for the Lakers moving forward, and so will his antics — as exhibited above. So long as they are not detrimental to overall team morale, of course. Then again, LeBron James will always be there to make sure that Smith keeps his act together.

For his part, Kuzma was amazing in this one, coming out with one of his best performances of the season. Aside from that game-winning triple, the 25-year-old also logged 25 points on 11-of-16 shooting, along with six rebounds, and three assists.

This victory allowed the Lakers to snap a three-game losing skid, as they search for some sort of momentum entering the playoffs. LA closes out their regular season on Thursday against the Sacramento Kings, and it would not be surprising if one or two stars sit that game out for the Lakers. With a bit of luck, Smith might just get a good run against the Kings.
