Lonzo Ball was drafted with the second pick of the 2017 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. Backed by the constant proclamations of his father, Ball initially fell short of his lofty expectations at the beginning of the season.

Although it was apparent even in his days in UCLA that Ball wouldn't be a dominant scorer, many fans and media personnel hounded Ball for not shooting efficiently. Granted, Ball showed almost no skill offensively, missing layups and wide open 3-pointers. Still, the Lakers drafted Ball to become their floor general, not a dynamic scorer.

In any case, Ball does have some aspirations to get better on the offensive end. He has constantly worked on his shot throughout the season, and it showed in the Lakers' Saturday night win over the San Antonio Spurs.

With the game on the line, Ball hit two contested 3-pointers to win the game for the Lakers. It was a marvelous sight, especially against one of the best defensive teams in the league. Julius Randle had a confident take on Ball's clutch shooting, stating that Ball has worked hard to get his shot down packed, per Josh Martin of Lonzo Wire.

“He went from hitting the side of the backboard to he can’t miss now,” Randle said. “He’s just confident out there, making plays, making huge shots down the stretch for us. He’s been great.”

No one truly knows if this recent showing will become a trend moving forward. However, one thing is for sure. Ball is working on his jump shot and he can potentially become a threat once he settles in. After all, it's only Ball's rookie season. That means that the Lakers guard has plenty of time to develop a reliable jumper.
