Kevin Durant may not be playing in the postseason any longer, but that doesn't mean that the Brooklyn Nets forward isn't trying to dunk on people anymore – at least on social media. One fan recently invoked the late, great Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant in an argument against KD.

According to the fan, Kevin Durant has simply operated with a mindset geared towards individual excellence. While he does say Durant has reached levels as an individual higher than most anybody in NBA history, he still hasn't displayed the qualities such as a true champion like Kobe Bryant. The fan asserts directly influenced his Lakers teammates in the late aughts enough to secure two titles – something Durant supposedly hasn't learned to do.

But Kevin Durant wasn't taking the argument sitting down. The Nets star asserted that even Kobe Bryant himself would admit that the true biggest facet that led to a change of fortune for the Lakers was actually acquiring Pau Gasol more than anything else.

Kobe Bryant had his most dominant individual season in 2005-06 when he averaged a whopping 35.4 points per game. But it was only after LA traded for Gasol in 2008 that he would once again reach heights he once did alongside Shaq.

KD was clapping back at fans grilling him over the supposed improvements Kobe made to turn himself into a championship player post-Shaq. The criticism was directed at Durant allegedly not taking the same steps to become that type of winning player. But according the Durant, the Lakers star was already a championship player at that point.

For as great as Kevin Durant is, even he isn't shielded from criticism.
