A clip of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James shoving a fan during an Usher concert is currently making its rounds on social media. Unsurprisingly, The King has been bashed with a ton of criticism for allegedly “assaulting” the fan.
Before you jump to any conclusions, here's a look at the incident (h/t Ahn Fire Digital and Lakers Daily on Twitter):

Well, there's no denying that LeBron shoved the fan and it looks like he had a few unsavory words for him as well. However, “assault” might be too big an accusation for this particular incident:

Lol that’s still assault. I’m not saying he was wrong for doing it. But it’s still considered assault

A lot of other fans on the mean streets of Twitter were not particularly happy with LeBron's actions:
I know you’re just protecting yourself but that’s just a kid bro. SMH!!!

Of course he had to make it about himself at Usher's concert.

The incident drew contradicting views, however, with others saying that LeBron just did what he had to do as the random fan invaded his personal space:
Watch people hate on lebron for this even tho he invading on lebrons space

Y’all saying assault or sue lebron, when mans ran up on him?? Not only that but his wife was with him too, that fan could’ve got popped right in his mouth and I would’ve been cool with it…you don’t run up on ANYONE

I don't even like lebron at all but I gotta be honest. He had every right to do this. He is at an R&B song with his wife. He probably would've took the picture if he was by himself

If you look at the comments section, though, the general disposition is that the Lakers star didn't do anything wrong here. The fan was literally rushing to him and it looks like all LeBron did was protect himself and his wife.
Then again, this is LeBron James we're talking about here so it isn't surprising that some folks are straight-up hating on him for his actions here. I guess this could serve as a reminder that LeBron is a human being, too, and that he should be treated as such.
The King was clearly not in a jovial mood, though. Maybe he didn't like that particular Usher song?
