Kyrie Irving just had one of his best games in a Boston Celtics uniform on Friday night as the C's took down the raging Toronto Raptors in overtime, 123-116. The 26-year-old point guard was so outstanding on Friday that even his former teammate LeBron James had to take notice.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar took to Twitter to share to the world just how impressed he was with his former Cleveland Cavaliers partner-in-crime.

Irving was absolutely balling against Kawhi Leonard and co. in a marquee matchup that pitted two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. The 6-foot-3 guard scored a season-high 43 points on 18-of-26 from the field and 4-of-6 from the charity stripe. He also dropped three 3-pointers, two rebounds, a game-high 11 assists, three steals, a block,Ā and just three turnovers in 39 minutes of action.

In the summer of 2017, Irving famously turned his back on the Cavs to join the Celtics. The general consensus was that he was tired of living under the shadow of James and wanted to pave his own path to greatness. Many believed that these two had a strained relationship, which eventually led to Irving's unceremonious exit.

Nonetheless, it appears that the two have since buried the hatchet and have now moved on. As made evident by LeBron's praise, his respect and admiration towards his former teammate is still on full display.

Now on his second season in Boston, Irving was off to a relatively slow start. However, he has been on a tear of late, averaging an amazing 25.7 pointsĀ on 52.3 percent shooting, 4.0 3-pointers (at a 49.0-percent clip), 4.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks in the month of November.
