Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo made his first public comments Monday since the fight that took place Saturday night at Staples Center between him and Houston Rockets All-Star Chris Paul.

Rondo, who has been suspended three games for spitting and punching Paul, told reporters he didn’t address his teammates about the fight.

“Everybody knows who I am, “Rondo said. “You know my team and I think they still respect me for what I do and what I bring to this team.”

Everyone in the league knows Rajon Rondo is one of the fiercest competitors in NBA history and a tough guy. Rondo's teammates didn't need to hear anything from him. He has earned his reputation in the league and is a champion. If anything, the young guys on the club like Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart and Brandon Ingram probably gained even more respect for Rondo.

The Lakers have started the season 0-2. Rondo will be replaced by Ball in the starting lineup while he serves his suspension.

Through the first two games of the year, Rajon Rondo is averaging 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 10.5 assists while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc.
