This offseason, a number of people floated the idea of Kobe Bryant making a return to the court for the Los Angeles Lakers. Former teammate Shaquille O'Neal recently chimed in on his show, The Big Podcast with Shaq:

“He will never go to the Big 3 before he does the NBA. Everybody knows who Kobe is. You’re telling me Kobe can’t give somebody a nice 15-20 minutes a game. If you align all the dots and align all the moons and oceans… if he came back at 40 then the announcement would be the biggest sports announcement in history. The jersey thing would triple in one day. Everybody would be talking about it. He wouldn’t even need to play great, just come play 15-20 minutes a game as a Laker…

“If they happen to do well, it would probably be one of the greatest stories in NBA history. And Kobe likes stuff like that, that’s all I’m saying.”

A Kobe return seems to be a hot topic when things get quiet during the offseason. Bryant already stated he doesn't want to return to the court. He's even gone as far as to say he won't return because he wants to prove everyone predicting his return to the game wrong.

That's classic Kobe. He's always wanted to prove the doubters wrong. To be clear, Shaq's not wrong here. Bryant wouldn't need to do a whole lot, it would shock the sports world, and his jersey would fly off the shelves. But that doesn't make this any likelier.
