Washington Wizards coach Scott Brooks believes that former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant belongs in the GOAT discussion in the NBA.

Kobe Bryant obviously put together one of the best careers in league history during his run in Los Angeles, and now the team's fans are seeing another one of the all-time legends take the court with LeBron James on the roster.

That has continued the discussion as to who is the top player in NBA history, and both players are still right at the top of the race in most people's eyes.

However, Scott Brooks feels like Bryant should get his proper due for the incredible things that he accomplished during his Lakers career.

Here's what Brooks had to say on the matter, courtesy of Ben Standig of NBC Sports Washington.

“There are organizations and rightfully so that their crowds are global. You can argue [the Lakers] had the greatest player ever to play the game for 20 years before LeBron got there,” Brooks said.

“Everybody is a fan of Kobe and now they have LeBron. Now they have another guy who could arguably be the greatest player ever.”

Both players have undoubtedly achieved incredible feats, and even if many people favor one over the other in the debate for the NBA's best player ever, they're going to keep being two of the main frontrunners in the conversation.

Of course, Michael Jordan would probably have something to say about that as well.

So, for seemingly the millionth time over the past few years, it seems like we should once again pose the question: which player do you believe deserves to be at the top of the debate for best player ever?
