Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James just surpassed Kobe Bryant on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

Despite accomplishing the historic feat in Philadelphia, Bryant's hometown no less, the Well Fargo Center crowd showed some love for The King by giving him a standing ovation.

James acknowledged the shower of cheers and waved at the crowd. Watch the scene in Philadelphia below, via ESPN.

James made the historic shot on a layup in the third quarter. With that shot, James made his 18th point on the night — and consequently his 33,644th point — to move past Bryant who finished with 33,643 points throughout his 20-year career with the Lakers

After Saturday night, The King now just trails Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA's all-time scoring list. The Mailman scored a total of 36,928 through his 19-year career, while the master of the sky hook amassed 38,387 points in 20 seasons.

It will probably take James a year or two to pass Karl Malone on the list, barring any major injuries. Likewise, the Lakers superstar also has a realistic shot of eventually becoming the NBA's all-time leading scorer when it's all said and done, considering the fact that he is still playing at a very high level at this point of his career.

James, in year 17 and at age 35, is averaging 25.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, and a career-high 10.8 assists through the first half of the season. The King is on a mission to capture his fourth NBA championship this June.

Unfortunately for LeBron James, the Sixers spoiled the party after taking down the Purple and Gold 108-91. James finished with 29 points while Anthony Davis had 31, but their efforts were not enough to stop Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris and Al Horford.
