The Minnesota Lynx take on the Connecticut Sun. Our WNBA odds series has our Lynx Sun prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Lynx Sun.

The Connecticut Sun are reaffirming the reality that they're one of the better teams in the WNBA. They had the third-best record in the league last season. Through one week of play this season, they're unbeaten. They have answered every challenge. The road will get tougher for them, but in a 40-game season, any three-game winning streak matters. The Sun have already increased the odds that they will be a top-four team and will have home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. To be realistic about the Sun's performance in the early stages of the season, this team has generally not been dominant. Two of its three wins were relatively close. Yet, in professional basketball (any league, not just the WNBA), the goal of the regular season is just to win and handle the constant grind of travel and logistics. The postseason demands a higher standard, but the regular season is less about style points and more about posting the result, hopping on a plane, and getting a good night's restorative sleep. The Sun have done that in the first week of the season and hope to sustain it for the next several months.

The WNBA schedule has been weird in a few very noticeable ways through the first week and a half of play. One of the oddities of the early-season schedule is that the Minnesota Lynx have played just two games. They have not played since last Friday. Moreover, the Lynx have played just one opponent. They faced the Seattle Storm twice, once at home and once on the road. No other WNBA team is in the Lynx's position. One could say they are rested and fresh, but one could also say they are rusty and lack rhythm. It will be interesting to see which line of thought carries more weight and is borne out in this game against the Sun in Connecticut.

Why The Lynx Could Cover The Spread

Minnesota will be rested and fresh against a Connecticut team which has won two games against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. Indiana is winless so far this season, one of the worst teams in the league. Connecticut has two wins over the winless Fever and another victory over the winless Washington Wizards. The Sun aren't that good, and Minnesota will keep this game close enough to cover. It might even win straight up.

Why The Sun Could Cover The Spread

The Sun are at home against a team which has sat around for several days and could very easily be rusty and sluggish. Basketball players don't mind one or two days of rest between games, but the Lynx have been idle all week, and that could actually disrupt any rhythm they might have established. Plus, their only opponent so far is the Seattle Storm, who have been struggling. Minnesota is 2-0, but it's not an impressive 2-0. The Sun are much better right now.

Final Lynx-Sun Prediction & Pick

The Sun are a good team, but the Lynx haven't played in several days and are hard to assess. Stay away and wait for a live play.

Final Lynx-Sun Prediction & Pick: Lynx +6.5
