Shortly after the news broke that All-Star forward Gordon Hayward had agreed to sign with the Boston Celtics, the team made another move to acquire veteran big man Marcus Morris.

During his introductory press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Morris opened up regarding the next chapter of his career as a championship contender, per Brian Robb of 98.5 the Sports Hub.

The Celtics have further assembled a team that could better compete with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have been to three consecutive NBA Finals. Although they have lost some size with the departure of both Kelly Olynyk and Amir Johnson, they have gained more players who have the potential to greatly contribute to their offense.

Morris is coming off another productive season where he averaged 14.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 32.5 minutes per contest while making starts in all 79 games played. He could quickly become the Celtics' starting power forward next season due to his ability to stretch the floor with his outside shooting touch as he's a career 35.5 percent shooter from beyond the arc.

At this point, it's still unclear if the Celtics have enough to finally top the Cavaliers, but this will certainly be Morris' best chance to compete for an NBA title up to this point of his career.
