When Joakim Noah was ruled out of the Knicks' game against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, it was just a few hours before the 12 noon tip-off. The Knicks needed a big man to fill-in for the 6-foot-11 Florida product immediately.

One of the team's staff called the promising center of their D-League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks. As soon as Marshall Plumlee accepted the offer, he had to rush to Madison Square Garden for his NBA debut.

Since the city's traffic was not working in his favor, the former Duke Blue Devil found a way to make it to the arena faster and shared his experience.

“Sprinting through the city. I got here, they said, ‘Hey, do you need a warmup?’ I said, ‘No, I’m already warm. I ran here.’”

He got in a little late as he came in midway through the first quarter and got his first taste of NBA action in the second quarter. Plumlee played a total of 5:36 minutes and had a rebound. Most importantly, he was able to fill-in the roster spot and help the Knicks win, 104-94.

Asked about his eventful morning, the younger brother of Mason and Miles, could not believe it and knew how unforgettable it was.

“It was crazy. I feel I could write a book about it.”

Should he get a chance to appear in more games for the Knicks, it will be safe to assume that Plumlee will opt to take a cab or train instead.
