Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic picks up where he left off and explodes for 17 huge points in the opening quarter of his Olympic debut. The Slovenian was absolutely cooking in the game's first ten minutes against Argentina, scoring 17 of his country's 32 points to give Slovenia an eight-point margin after the first quarter.

After boldly declaring that a gold medal for Slovenia would be at the top of his priority list, the Mavs' magician led his national team to a historical run to book their first-ever Olympic stint earlier this month. And, right from the get go, Luka wasn't about to waste any time.

The 22-year-old Mavs superstar, as always, was deep in his bag in the opening quarter. In his first nine minutes of Olympic basketball, Doncic immediately knocked down three long-range bombs to spearhead the attack for his country. Luka Doncic and his squad are part of Group C alongside Argentina, the hosts of the 2020 Olympics games Japan, and world no. 2 Spain. It's one of the toughest brackets in the competition but with one of the best young players in the world, Slovenia has a chance to shock the world – one Luka Magic play at a time.
