The Dallas Mavericks suffered a bitter defeat at the hands of the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, losing 107-107 through Nikola Jokic's clutch shot in the dying seconds. Luka Doncic did all he could to push the Mavs past the visitors, but his near triple-double game went for naught.

Unsurprisingly, the press tried to get Doncic's comments on the game after the bitter loss. However, they were surprised to find out that the usually-cheerful Slovenian star was in no mood to talk to them at all. The media were told that Doncic left the American Airlines Center immediately without talking to anyone.

Per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News, the Mavs' PR team informed the media that Luka will address them after practice on Thursday.

Mavs fans totally get why Doncic didn't want to talk to the press after the game. He always wants to win games and does not care about individual stats.

Doncic finished the game with 27 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists in 37 minutes of play. Dallas led by as much as five points during the final two minutes of the game, but defensive mistakes allowed the Nuggets to complete the unlikely comeback.

If there's any consolation, NBA Hall of Famer and former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen thinks that Doncic can open the Mavs' championship window sooner rather than later.

“I think it’s realistic for him right now. Right now, this kid’s game is propelling so much that he’s learning on the fly. He’s getting better and better night in and night out. We’re seeing his dominance. He hasn’t started to play selfish basketball yet,” Pippen said of Luka Doncic. “When he does that, and really makes his presence known on the basketball court, he’s going to be a different animal. We’re seeing a young player that is building confidence physically and mentally. Now his game is going to start to explore more as he continues to play.”

Certainly, the Dallas faithful can only hope their star man will be calmer by the time practice resumes on Thursday.
