Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is one of the best offensive players in the NBA today. While he doesn't possess explosive athleticism, his ability to score and use his body is truly elite, so much so that Patrick Beverley claims he's the toughest player he had to guard.

When asked about the player had the the most difficult time guarding, the new Minnesota Timberwolves guard didn't even think twice and quickly mentioned the name of the Mavs star. According to Pat Bev, it was an “easy” choice considering what Doncic has been able to do in just his first three years in the NBA.

Luka Doncic has never averaged below 20 points so far in his NBA career, putting up 21.2 points on 42.7 percent shooting in his rookie year. Overall, he has been averaging 25.7 points on top of 8.4 rebounds and 7.7 assists for the Mavs.

As mentioned, the Slovenian youngster does not rely on his athleticism to get buckets. Instead, his craftiness and ability to create angles, along with his terrific handles, make him a nightmare matchup for other guards. Patrick Beverley has experienced that nightmare himself firsthand … and multiple times.

As he enters his fourth season, the pressure on the Mavs star is high once again. Aside from being the odds-on MVP favorite, fans and experts alike expect him to lead Dallas to a deeper run in the playoffs after two straight years of losing in the first round.

However, as Beverley said, he'll be on Doncic's “ass” this 2021-22. The 22-year-old can certainly expect the same from other defenders that they'll be facing.
