Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has already been compared to a lot of all-time greats in his first three seasons in the league. Following another stellar performance in the Mavs' 115-98 win over the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Saturday, the now two-time All-Star addressed the most recent ones calling him the second-coming of Hall of Fame forward Larry Bird.

“More, more games to go. A long time before you can compare me to Larry Bird. I just want to keep hooping, have fun playing basketball,” Doncic said after the match, per Callie Caplan of Dallas Morning News.

Entering the showdown against Luka Doncic and the Mavs, the Nets were the hottest team in the league after winning their last eight games. Nets head coach Steve Nash already expressed how wary he is of Doncic's superstar ability prior to tip-off. But that did not matter as much, as the Slovenian stud still torched Brooklyn, recording 27 points on 11-for-21 shooting from the field and 3-of-10 from deep.

Doncic also collected six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 32 minutes of action for the Mavs.

At one glance, it's not hard to see the many similarities between Doncic and the Boston Celtics legend. Both stars do not rely on athleticism to dominate the game, while they are also terrific playmakers at their height. Larry Bird, of course, is the better shooter between the two, while Doncic does boast a more all-around game.

While most players would be over the moon getting compared to Larry Legend himself, Doncic believes he still has ways to go to truly be on that level. For one, the Mavs youngster  still needs at least three NBA titles to his name.
