Former New York Knick Reggie Bullock seems to have no regrets about choosing to sign with the Dallas mavericks this offseason rather than staying in the Big Apple.

The shooting guard said recently that his choice was easy.

“When I played against the Mavericks last year, I liked the way that they competed as a team,” Bullock said per the New York Post's Marc Berman. “They got great players, so it was an easy, no-brainer for me. Being with the Knicks last year, we made it to the playoffs but I see [the Mavericks] as a team that’s taking that next step to be in the postseason.’’

Talent-wise, Bullock probably has a point. While the Knicks exceeded the expectations of many last season (a 41-31 record) and Julius Randle had a breakout year in which he made All-NBA Second Team, the Mavericks feature a generational superstar the likes of which Knicks fans haven't seen in decades. Luka Doncic is still only 22 years old, and for a shooter like Bullock, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better passer that will set him up for wide-open looks than the Slovenian wonder kid.

Bullock will likely fit seemlessly with Dallas, as his skillset allows him to fit in anywhere. As a 6'7 shooting guard that can guard multiple positions and shoot near 40% from three year-in and year-out (he shot 41% from deep last season in New York), he's a coach's dream, particularly when the team relies so heavily on a ball-dominant creator like Doncic. Teams cannot leave Bullock open in the corners to help on Doncic, and that'll make his job easier.

Bullock inked a three-year, $30 million contract with the Mavericks in free agency, with the final year of the deal only half-guaranteed. The Mavericks will face the Knicks for the first time next season on Jan. 12.
