Seth Curry is back on the Dallas Mavericks and the Mavs guard is excited to play with 2019 Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic.

After playing with the Portland Trail Blazers last season, Curry signed a four-year, $32 million deal with the Mavs this summer in free agency. The sharpshooter is thrilled to be back in Dallas.

“I was looking at a lot of different options once free agency opened. It was kind of the first time in my career where I had a lot of options and got to pick where I wanted to go,” Curry said on the Dennis and Cowlishaw show on ESPN Dallas 103.3. “When I heard about Dallas and they called and showed interest, it's a familiar place obviously and I was excited about the opportunity.

“Rick Carlisle is a good coach. It's as simple as that. He puts his players in good positions to succeed offensively and defensively. He likes guards that can do multiple things out there — playing multiple guards at the same time. I played some of my best basketball when I was there a couple of years ago so I'm excited to rejoin the team and help get them back to the playoffs …. I wanted to get back to playing with guys like Luka (Doncic) and (Kristaps Porzingis). Unselfish guys. Luka's one of the best passers in the league right now. I'm excited about the opportunity.”

Seth Curry played for the Mavs during the 2016-17 season. He's coming back to the franchise as a more mature and polished player.

Last season for the Blazers, Curry averaged 7.9 points while shooting 45.6 percent from the field, 45.0 percent from beyond the arc and 84.6 percent from the free-throw line. Seth is going to get a lot of wide-open looks on the Mavs playing alongside Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, two players who command double-teams.

Doncic averaged 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists as a rookie last season. He recorded 24 double-doubles, eight triple-doubles and led all rookies in points per game and was second in assists per game.
