Dallas Mavericks forward Kristaps Porzingis made a point not to autograph a fan's New York Knicks jersey ahead of the Mavs' matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Porzingis was signing memorabilia outside of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse earlier this afternoon, but he seemed to ignore a fan holding his No. 6 Knicks jersey right in front of him.

Porzingis does seem to give the jersey a glance in the clip above, but he moves right on down the line. Quite the humorous exchange, especially given that the Mavs were not even in New York.

Of course, Porzingis began his career with the Knicks in 2015. New York fans notoriously booed his selection, but they would eventually come to admire the 7-footer after he posted a pair of good seasons in his first two years before making the All-Star team in 2018.

However, the partnership was not long for the Big Apple. Porzingis had publicly and privately shown concern over the direction of the franchise under former president Phil Jackson, and he criticized the team for the way that they handled the Carmelo Anthony situation.

Porzingis tore his ACL during the 2017-18 season, an injury that would eventually force him to miss all of last year. The Knicks traded Porzingis to the Mavs last February in an attempt to free up cap space to make a run at two max-level free agents this past summer.

That move did not pan out for New York, but Porzingis is thriving in Dallas. Through five games, he is averaging 21.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks. He looks fully healthy and has thrived in the pick-and-roll with Mavs rising star Luka Doncic.

Still no love lost between Porzingis and New York, however.
