Charlotte Hornets owner and Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan is gifting a massive amount of money to a pair of medical clinics in North Carolina.

Jordan is giving $10 million to two clinics in Hanover County. He had previously partnered with Novant Health to open two Michael Jordan Family Clinics in Charlotte. Now, Jordan is widening his efforts in the medical space.

His Airness released a statement in accordance with the gift:

“I am very proud to once again partner with Novant Health to expand the Family Clinic model to bring better access to critical medical services in my hometown,” Jordan said, via Novant Health's website. “Everyone should have access to quality health care, no matter where they live, or whether or not they have insurance. Wilmington holds a special place in my heart and it’s truly gratifying to be able to give back to the community that supported me throughout my life.”

Michael Jordan's gifts to Novant Health now total $17 million.

The money will be used to provide “comprehensive primary care, including behavioral health and social support services, to the area’s most vulnerable communities,” per Novant's press release.

Jordan has been increasingly active in philanthropic works dating back to last year. He and the Jordan Brand promised a $100 million donation to social justice organizations and those committed to assisting Black Americans.

Sunday also marked the debut of Jordan's new NASCAR team. The team's driver, Bubba Wallace, became the first Black driver to lead a lap of the Daytona 500.

It is abundantly clear Michael Jordan is more committed to using his wealth and influence to do good, especially in his home state of North Carolina.
