The NBA regular season is right around the corner, and the Golden State Warriors are looking to finish the preseason strong. Lots of good things have started to formulate early, and that's good news for the Dubs. Then there are the bad things that got discovered. Considering both sides of the spectrum, I will give you my four bold predictions for the 2021-22 NBA season.
Warriors will win the season series against the Lakers
The Dubs will face the Los Angeles Lakers four times this season. With what the Lakers have shown during the preseason, I think the Warriors will win the season series. Chemistry is the biggest reason why they will win this battle.
They are rolling on all cylinders, and LeBron James and Russell Westbrook are still working on making things work in Laker land. Opening night, the Warriors will start the season with a win giving them the early lead. From that point on, the Lakers will be playing catch up the entire season, giving the Warriors the advantage. The Warriors will reach their maximum potential before the Lakers and win the season series. The playoffs could be another story, though.
MVP
The two time MVP will become a three-time MVP. In one of the biggest seasons of Stephen Curry's career, he will show up and show out. He's coming off arguably the best season of his career. He averaged a career-best 32 points, and this season you can expect another spectacular year.
At age 33, Curry is looking to start the fight Tom Brady and LeBron James have been a part of for years and defeat father time. His elite shooting and conditioning will aid in him playing at a high level into his late 30s or maybe till 40. Nonetheless, at 33, he is still in his prime, and if the Warriors can win enough games, he will be this year's MVP.
NBA assist leader
Article Continues BelowThe Warriors floor general is Draymond Green. He's coming off a career season when it comes to passing the ball. He averaged 8.9 assists, which ended up good enough to be in the NBA's top 5 last year. This year Green will lead the NBA in assists.
The reason why is the amount of shooting the Warriors has added. Everyone on the court can let it fly, and most of the players' percentage has been near 40% in their career at some point. Green is the one who will be in charge of getting all of these sharpshooters opportunities. Three-pointers will equal a lot of assists and a fast pace that will lead to Green winning the assists title.
Western Conference Finals
Lastly, the Warriors will show their championship pedigree. Assuming this team gets healthy, they will be one of the top teams in the Western Conference. The Warriors will make a run at winning another championship.
Once Klay Thompson and James Wiseman return from injuries, the Warriors will have to figure out rotations. They will be adding to an already good thing. The key is not messing up the good that you have already. That will be Steve Kerr's dilemma, but I'm sure he will say that's a good problem to have.
Even if none of the above ends up true, Warriors fans are in for a treat this season. Stephen Curry and company will be giving it their best every single night. That's not a prediction. That is a guarantee.
