Since becoming the NBA's first West Coast team in 1960, the Los Angeles Lakers have drawn in a host of celebrity fans. That fandom exploded during the Showtime Lakers era of the 80s and with the team now back to contender status, finding multiple celebrities in attendance at the Staples Center is a common occurrence.
One of the biggest names in Hollywood has been seen at many Laker games throughout the years. Although he often appears at games trying to keep a relatively low profile with a baseball cap pulled tight over his head, DiCaprio is hard to miss.
A native of Los Angeles and reportedly a big basketball fan in general, not many people at Staples Center can compete with DiCaprio when it comes to success.
O'Shea Jackson, or as he is more commonly known as, ‘Ice Cube' is one of the biggest basketball fans in Hollywood. The rapper, actor and director/producer loves basketball so much that he started the successful Big3 league in January of 2017.
Jackson has jokingly claimed that he was a Laker fan “in the womb” and still continues to show his support today.
Jack Nicholson
Easily the biggest celebrity Laker fan on this list, Nicholson, the three-time Academy Award winner. At 82, Nicholson is now retired and doesn't show up to games as much as he used to but there's no doubt that he will always be recognized as a Lakers superfan.
Flea and Anthony Kiedis
Two of the members of one of the most famous rock bands of all time in The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kiedis and Flea (real name Michael Balzary) have made countless appearances to various games over the years.
The two even named two of their songs on their 1989 album Mother's Milk as a tribute to the Lakers with “Salute to Kareem” and “Magic Johnson”
Jeffery Katzenberg
You may not be familiar with Katzenberg by name but you'll certainly be familiar with his work. Katzenberg served as chairman for Walt Disney Studios from 1984-1994.
In 1994, Katzenberg helped found DreamWorks SKG and then DreamWorks Animation in 2004. Other than producing countless beloved animated movies over the past few decades, Katzenberg has Laker tickets for the entire season and often brings along other celebrities with him to games.
Dyan Cannon
Perhaps the longest-tenured celebrity Laker fan, actress Dyan Cannon, perhaps best known for her role in 1978's Heaven Can Wait, has been a faithful Laker fan for decades.
Cannon has been sitting courtside since the Jerry West days and her brownies, which she has been bringing to the team, announcers and valet for the past 20 or so years, are apparently famous throughout the organization.
