Over the past few weeks, the social media team at 2K Games has been revealing the overall ratings of players who will appear in their upcoming release of NBA 2K19. On Wednesday, 2K announced that Oklahoma City Thunder star Paul George has been given an 89.

An 89 overall score for George is fair, though some would argue that he could have been rated a tick higher. After all, this is a five-time All-Star we're talking about here. For perspective: New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis was given a 94, while Utah Jazz up-and-comer Donovan Mitchell earned an 87.

George, now 28 years of age, made 79 appearances with the Thunder during their 2017-18 regular season campiagn, racking up averages of 21.9 points on 43.0 percent shooting from the field (40.1 percent from beyond the arc), 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.0 steals in 36.6 minutes per outing.

2K19 will be the 20th installment of 2K Sports' popular basketball simulator. It's scheduled to be released on September 11, 2018, with Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks serving as the standard edition cover star.

Earlier this month, 2K revealed that LeBron James (98 overall in 2K19) will serve as the cover athlete for the special 20th Anniversary Edition.

“This special edition will set you back $99.99, but it'll give you access to the game on September 7, four days before the release of the standard edition on September 11, as well as various additional bonuses.”
