One of the biggest questions that the NBA needs to figure out soon is the relationship between players and the referees.

Over the last few years, it has been a growing concern by players who feel like they aren't getting any respect from the officials, and that the referees are getting a lot more calls wrong.

It appears the NBA might be trying to fix one of those problems with plans to experiment on a challenge flag during the Summer League.

Although it's not 100 percent clear what plays will be allowed to be challenged, or how many plays will be challenged, this seems like it could be a change in the right direction.

The NBA has had a few more plays allowed to be reviewed the last few years, including the ability to change a block or charge call. It's odd that the NBA would make that play eligible to be reversed, but other more obvious calls that are missed not be able to be overturned.

According to Termine, Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle, who is also the president of the NBA Coaches Association, said “all are in favor of a challenge” rule.

Although they are making this rule change for the summer tournament, don't expect the league to make any changes to the NBA rulebook anytime soon.

If the rule works in the Summer League, the next step would probably be a trial period in the G-League, and then if that works it might make it's way up to the NBA.
