It appears as if five-year NBA veteran Nik Stauskas is on his way to playing overseas.

Lithuanian basketball journalist Donatas Urbonas claimed that Stauskas has rejected some EuroLeague clubs, but has a likely destination in Spain.

Stauskas was drafted 8th overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2014 draft after a solid career at the University of Michigan. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard developed a reputation as one of the best 3-point shooters in college basketball and left Michigan with a career average of 44.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Unfortunately for Stauskas, his shooting never really translated to the NBA. As a rookie, he shot a disappointing 32.2 percent from deep and only averaged 4.4 points a game.

A three-season stint with the Philadelphia 76ers still did not allow Stauskas to breakthrough. After spending one season apiece with the Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trail Blazers, he landed with the Cleveland Cavaliers where he had the best shooting season of his career.

As a Cav, Stauskas shot nearly 43 percent from deep and averaged 5.5 points per contest. However, he played only 24 games with the rebuilding Cleveland team.

Now, Nik Stauskas could attempt to rebuild his career overseas. He could join a long list of former NBA players who have searched for success in a different league in order to prove that they can still compete. If Stauskas plays well in Spain, he has a shot at getting a few more looks in the NBA.
