One of the biggest surprises of the offseason thus far came in the form of the Los Angeles Clippers extending the current contract of Paul George for a whopping $190 million dollars. Unsurprisingly, the mean streets of NBA Twitter had a field day with this recent development, as they trolled George, the Clippers, and their renewed love affair.

Paul George did not exactly have the best debut season with L.A. last term, which is why it came as a surprise to many that the Clippers decided to reward him with a max extension. All jokes aside, though, the Clippers undeniably deserve a ton of credit for making such a bold move. It may not have been one that most folks were expecting, but nevertheless, it is a clear indication of how they intend to move forward with their franchise. By signing George to an extension, they made it abundantly clear that the six-time All-Star will figure significantly in their plans for the foreseeable future.

Now whether or not it was the right decision is an altogether different matter. At this point, NBA fans can only wait and see.
