There's been a heated battle going on among NBA circles for the past few years – but it's not on the court. Adrian Wojnarowski has had his all-knowing supremacy challenged by one Shams Charania.

While Woj is still considered top dog by many when it comes to breaking news in the NBA, he's come under legitimate threat from Shams when it comes to getting the biggest scoops.

According to former The Athletic reporter and current Substack writer Ethan Strauss, Woj has been sending out material for his own personal campaign in the form of a PowerPoint presentation. The purpose seems to be in order to argue why potential sources should leak into to him instead of Shams or anyone else. Strauss goes into detail on said document from his Substack.

Via House of Strauss:

The documents include claims like, “he is the undisputed top NBA media talent in the business,” and “His combined reach of 7.0M followers across Twitter, Instagram and Facebook is more than every other NBA media personality from the below comp set.”

The data points to a handful of metrics that argue why Adrian Wojnarowski, and not anybody else, is the best medium to leak breaking news to.

Woj pits his total social media following of seven million across multiple platforms over the likes of Bill Simmons, Marc Stein, Shams Charania, and many others. Based on the data, he also claims to have the most follower growth (1.1 million) within the past year over second-placer Shams (581k).

There's definitely nothing scandalous about trying to send out your credentials to help your own cause. But it's interesting to get a peek into the process of just how guys like Woj or Shams conduct their business and build their web of connections.
