The Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder were reportedly interested in signing Enes Kanter, but the big man joined the Portland Trail Blazers instead, according to NBA insider Michael Pina.

Kanter reportedly went to the Blazers because they can offer him the most playing time moving forward.

There was no chance Enes Kanter was going to sign with the lowly Bulls. Chicago is just like Kanter's old team, the New York Knicks. The Bulls are in rebuild mode and have one of the worst records in the NBA.

The Celtics and Thunder would have been good fits for Kanter. It's not a surprise that OKC had interest in the scoring power forward. Kanter played three seasons in OKC and was a fan favorite and loved by the organization.

The Thunder traded Enes Kanter to the Knicks in the summer of 2017 in the Carmelo Anthony trade, but it wasn't an easy decision for general manager Sam Presti at the time.

The Celtics, meanwhile, already have a lot of front court depth, so it would have been hard for Kanter to get the minutes he was looking for. Boston has Al Horford, Daniel Theis, Robert Williams and Aron Baynes on the roster.

Kanter is averaging 14.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game this season. The 26-year-old is shooting 53.6 percent from the field, 31.8 percent from beyond the arc and 81.4 percent from the free-throw line.
