Like the current NBA regular season, the next NBA Summer League will also have some changes to its schedule. Instead of having two stops, the Orlando leg will reportedly be canceled, and the NBA will open the Las Vegas tournament to all 30 teams instead, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

The changes will definitely make the Summer League more competitive, as well as help all participating teams to sign the best players available. The higher level of competition will also prepare the rookies and standouts better and should make their transition to the NBA easier.

Outside of the G-League, the Summer League has been the proving ground for some former pros and other free agents to showcase their talents and make a case for themselves that they deserve a roster spot of an NBA team. It has also been the first tournament top rookies from the draft join before playing a regular season game, where most of the best players in the league today have also participated in.

Last summer, a number of players secured contracts as a result of their impressive play in the competition, which goes to show its importance to the build-up of all teams ahead of the new season.
