You asked, they answered. NBA Top Shot has now just unveiled the roadmap for the entire 2021 Playoffs Set and we're here for it.

You don't have to be part of the NBA Top Shot universe to know that the Playoffs are the most exciting part of any NBA season. And, now that the 2021 Playoffs are well underway, the NFT platform is making sure to ride the wave and double down on all the exciting action on the floor and showcase them in the blockchain.

Almost a week after the first pack drop of this series' NBA Playoffs Set, NBA Top Shot is now confirming their plans for the entire set. Albeit a bit late since users have already made their initial moves, it's still a good thing that the platform has been on the road to transparency to help collectors map out their goals, both short-term and long-term.

In total, the entire 2021 NBA Playoffs set will have 90 Moments that will all be sold in packs while 22 additional Moments will be given out as earnable Moments. There will be 12,000 (or less) editions per Moment that will be made available for all users.

As of now, there are already 36 Moments with four more Moments that can be earned through either Challenges or Quests namely: Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies, and Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers.

In addition, NBA Top Shot also confirmed that there will be 22 more first-round Moments that will hit the platform to be part of the upcoming releases. According to the official blog, this will come out to a little under four Moments per team, including earnable ones. Here's a breakdown of all the 90 Common Moments in the set:

  • 62 Moments from the First Round (Edition size: 12,000)
    • 8 of which will be Challenge Rewards
  • 32 Moments from the Second Round (Edition size: 11,500)
    • 8 of which will be Challenge Rewards
  • 12 Moments from the Conference Finals (Edition size: 11,250)
    • 4 of which will be Challenge Rewards
  • Six (6) Moments from the Finals (Edition size: 10,500)
    • 2 of which will be Challenge Rewards

Note that the edition size of the Challenge Rewards from each round are still TBD.

Now that we know how many Common Playoff Moments will be in circulation, it's also essential to know when they will be distributed, right? Well, we're in luck since NBA Top Shot also unveiled all the important details when it comes to the next three pack drops for this exciting Playoffs Set.

    • Done via RSVP
    • $14 per pack
    • Number of Moments inside: 3 (1 Common Playoff Moment from the First Round, 2 Common Base Set S2 Moments)
  • Release 2
    • Scheduled for June 25 (pack drop time TBD)
    • Limited to 200,000 packs available via queue system (no more RSVP)
    • Collector Score requirement (TBD)
    • Price: TBD
    • Number of Moments inside: 2 (1 Common Moment from the First and a Common Moment Second Round)
  • Release 3
    • Scheduled for early July
    • Limited to 166,000 packs available via queue system (no more RSVP)
    • Collector Score requirement (TBD)

    • Number of Moments inside: TBD (Guaranteed at least 1 Common Moment from the First and 1 Common Moment Second or Third Round)
  • Release 4
    • Scheduled shortly after the NBA Finals

Take note that there will be challenges per release/drop and each challenge may be different than others in terms of the number and type of Moments required. For example, the challenges for the First Round included Common Moments from the Series 2 Base Set while the challenge for the Second Round may include Playoff Moments from the First Round.

Aside from these Playoff challenges, Top Shot has also introduced Playoff Quests to add further market engagement from its users. Earlier this week, the platform introduced the first-ever Playoff Quest where users were invited to create a showcase featuring 10 Moments from 10 players who balled out during a specified game day.

Collectors who wanted to participate had 24 hours to scour their collections and/or the Marketplace for Moments that were eligible. 100 eligible winners selected at random were airdropped a 2021 Playoff Pack for their efforts. It's still unclear how often NBA Top Shot will be rolling out these Playoff Quests which has got collectors glued for any upcoming announcements.

Obviously, at this point, there is still a ton of information that has been withheld while the platform continues to try and adapt to all the changes and events that have been going on in and around NBA Top Shot land. Hopefully, more and more announcements and information gets dropped as playoff action continues to intensify.
