Despite dealing with an illness, Boston Celtics center Al Horford is planning to play in Game 2 of the team's first-round series against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.

Horford told the Celtics he felt sick on Tuesday. The All-Star big man skipped the morning shootaround on Wednesday to get some rest, and it looks like that rest is going to pay off:

The Celtics defeated the Pacers in Game 1 by a final score of 84-74. Horford played 32 minutes and finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds and five assists while shooting 4-of-10 from the field and 1-of-4 from beyond the arc.

In the regular season, Horford averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. The five-time All-Star, who is one of the smartest players in the league, shot 53.5 percent overall and 36.0 percent from the 3-point line in 68 games in the regular season for Boston.

The Celtics are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. They are looking to take a 2-0 series lead on Wednesday against the Pacers.

Boston held the Pacers to just eight points in the third quarter of Game 1. Without Victor Oladipo, Indiana has a hard time scoring in the half court. Of course, the Celtics' defense was really good, and Horford is the anchor of that defense.
