An anonymous player on the Golden State Warriors believes small forward Gordon Hayward is “a liability on both ends of the court” for the Boston Celtics right now.

The Warriors defeated the Celtics on Saturday at the TD Garden by a final score of 115-111. Gordon Hayward scored just two points off the bench and shot 0-of-5 from the field in 22 minutes of play.

“I talked to a Warriors player who told me, ‘Listen, Gordon Hayward is not Gordon Hayward right now. He’s hurting them. He’s a liability on both ends of the court.' “

In 44 games this season for Boston, Gordon Hayward is averaging 10.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

The 28-year-old, who has been coming off the bench since November, is shooting 42.0 percent from the field, 31.7 percent from beyond the arc and 84.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Everyone in Boston expected Hayward to struggle this season. After all, he's coming off a gruesome left ankle injury from last season. Anytime you miss a year of basketball, there's no way you are going to come back and play at a high-level right away.

However, it's almost February and Gordon Hayward is still knocking the rust off.

The Celtics are trying to compete for a championship this season and they can't have a player who they are paying $31,214,295 this season be a liability on the court for them.
