Boston Celtics fans need not fret as Marcus Smart is doing fine after his shoulder injury, according to head coach Brad Stevens.

Per Boston.com, Stevens believes that Smart will be okay moving forward:

In their 115-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, Smart left the game in the third quarter after colliding with Karl-Anthony Towns, who was setting a screen. After the collision, Smart was clearly hurt and was dragging his right arm on his way to the bench and to the locker room.

It was diagnosed as a strained right shoulder. Smart came back and appeared to be fine. He ended the game with two points, three rebounds, eight assists, and two steals in 22 minutes of action.

Smart himself said that everything is good and the medical staff cleared him:

“I just got hit in the right spot, back of the shoulder blade It sent a sharp pain up to my neck area and that knocked the wind out of me a little bit,” Marcus Smart said, per Tom Westerholm of MassLive. “But everything is OK. They cleared me. Nothing was out of the ordinary, and that’s the good thing.”

The 24-year-old is averaging 7.3 points per game, 4.0 assists, and 2.8 rebounds. The Celtics will host the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.
