While a lot of people are heaping praise on Jayson Tatum for his game-winner for the Boston Celtics, Draymond Green wants to focus on the real difference-maker for the team in the win over the Brooklyn Nets: Marcus Smart.

Smart provided the assist that led to Tatum's game-winner, and for Green, that is a critical play that shows why the current Celtics squad is so much better today. According to the Golden State Warriors star, Smart would have taken the shot in previous years, but now, he is embracing his point guard duties under head coach Ime Udoka.

“And there’s the difference in the Celtics team. Last year Marcus Smart would’ve taken that shot. Ime got him to buy in and be the Marcus smart everyone loved out of Ok State. BEAUTIFUL! Looking like a true PG again! That’s what made Him special!” Green wrote on Twitter.

True enough, one would have thought Marcus Smart would take the shot. After baiting two Nets players on his fake, he was wide-open from the perimeter to take the winning shot. Instead, as the rest of Brooklyn was focused on him, he saw Tatum approaching the basket and passed it up leading to the epic win.

As Draymond Green said, that made a ton of difference. Sure, he could have still won it, but giving it to Tatum shows the the Celtics veteran has really bought in to the system. Smart finished with 20 points and six dimes, and there is no doubt he'll continue to be a major factor in the series.
