Boston Celtics small forward Gordon Hayward will not play against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday due to a sprained right ankle.
Hayward suffered the injury in practice while playing a game of one-on-one vs. power forward Semi Ojeleye.

The good news is that Gordon Hayward didn't sprain his left ankle. Hayward suffered a fractured left foot last season on opening night and missed the entire season.
Article Continues BelowIn 53 games this season for the Celtics, Hayward is averaging 11.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest. The 28-year-old swingman is shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 33.7 percent from beyond the arc and 85.2 percent from the free-throw line.
Boston is 33-20 with Hayward in the lineup. He's been coming off the bench since November.
The Celtics are 37-21 on the season, good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Thursday will be a good matchup for Boston, as they are facing a Bucks team which has the best record in the NBA and a superstar talent in Giannis Antetokounmpo, along with All-Star Khris Middleton and explosive point guard Eric Bledsoe.
The next game for Boston after Thursday is on Saturday against the lowly Chicago Bulls. The team will update the status of Hayward moving forward. The Celtics are wise to play it safe with Gordon Hayward.
