Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward refers to himself in the third person as “Old G.”
According to Chris Forsberg of NBC Boston, the one-time All-Star is eager to get back his old form.
I enjoy third-person references from Gordon Hayward #OldG
"There was a play today where I went around and tried to shoot a layup, and missed the layup. I think old G would have tried to dunk that. … [I have to] kinda relearn what I used to do and what I can still do."

The 28-year-old is currently in his comeback season. It was only a year ago when the Celtics star shattered his ankle in the first game of the 2017-18 campaign.
A former standout with the Utah Jazz, Gordon Hayward was expected to bring his strong play to Boston. Above all, he was brought to team up with another All-Star in Kyrie Irving.
Despite suffering setbacks to his play because of the injury, Hayward has expressed his desire to be as competitive as his Jazz days.

Of course, the recovery process wouldn't take place overnight. It is a challenge he is facing, and every game is a chance for him to showcase his abilities.
Boston has been trying to find its rhythm and realize the potential of its stacked roster. They are not content with their 12-10 start and are looking to find their winning ways once more.
The “Old G” may just be waiting to get unleashed, who knows, but if he makes a return it'll be good for the Celtics as he can work alongside Irving to make wins possible.
