March 6 will now be forever special for Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum. He woke up on Sunday feeling dangerous and dropped a cool 54 points in their 126-120 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

But apart from that, the day was also for Tatum's former coach Mike Krzyzewski, who held his last home game with Duke. The All-Star forward wanted to be at the famed Cameroon Indoor Stadium, but the Celtics' schedule didn't allow him to go to and witness the historical moment.

But he made sure his absence was worth it, as he poured in a season-high to steer the Celtics and won his matchup against Nets star Kevin Durant. After the game, Tatum also made sure he ribbed teammate Jaylen Brown a bit, along with a reporter, when asked about missing Krzyzewski's final home game, per the report of ESPN.

“I definitely wish I could have been there, for the last game. It was an incredible run, 42 years, everything he's accomplished at Cameron” (Indoor Stadium), Tatum told a reporter who went to California, with Brown, who also went to California, at his side. “Definitely a better atmosphere than Cal.”

Clearly, the 24-year-old Tatum was in a good mood after their huge victory. The Celtics have now won 21 of their last 27 games.

For sure, Krzyzewski is extremely proud of his former star.
