The Boston Celtics, their faithful fans, and the rest of the concerned NBA awaiting some good news on Kemba Walker's status could breathe a collective sigh of relief for now.
The All-Star point guard's tests were earlier reported to be on the positive side but not only that, he has been cleared for release by a local Denver hospital and is scheduled to return to the team.

The 6-foot guard is still expected to be re-evaluated in Boston and has to hurdle past the NBA's stringent concussion protocols before he can make a full return to the court but these are all minor knowing that the accident he endured wasn't as severe as imagined.
Walker's injury occurred late in the second quarter of the Celtics' Friday night matchup against the Denver Nuggets as he tried to gamble for a steal and his forward momentum sent him barreling headfirst towards the chest of teammate Semi Ojeleye. He immediately tumbled on the floor clutching his head and remained stationary as the action crossed halfcourt, forcing head coach Brad Stevens to call an abrupt time out. It was determined that he suffered a neck injury and had to be stretchered out of the arena to the consternation of fans and players at the unfortunate incident.
The Celtics are already riddled with injuries as it is, as forward Gordon Hayward remains sidelined after a career renaissance and Walker is expected to be out for a while himself. Backup guard Brad Wanamaker is expected to be the de facto starter as a result and has shown flashes of promise during the last few games.
