Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker blasted his performance in Game 4 against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday.
Walker, one of the best players in the NBA, only took nine shots in the Game 4 loss and finished with 15 points and eight assists in 41 minutes.
The All-Star guard says he should have taken more than nine shots, per A. Sherrod Blakely of NBC Sports Boston.
“That's unacceptable on my behalf. There's no way I can be taking nine shots; that's unacceptable.”
Kemba Walker is 100 percent correct: he has to shoot more than nine shots in a playoff game, especially when small forward Jaylen Brown (4-of-18) struggles as he did in Game 4.
The Celtics and Raptors are now tied at 2-2 after Boston took a 2-0 series lead. It appears Raptors swingman OG Anunoby's game-winner in Game 3 at the buzzer over Brown was a series changer for Toronto.
During the 2019-20 regular season, Walker was superb for the Celtics. He averaged 20.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 56 starts while shooting 42.5 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 86.4 percent from the free-throw line.
For the Celtics to win this series against the Raptors, Walker needs to play like the All-Star he is and be more aggressive in looking for his shot and going downhill toward the basket. The Celtics didn't sign Walker to a max contract for him to take nine shots in a postseason game and play like a role player.
